IS IT TIME?
Signs your kitchen needs a remodel
Not sure if your kitchen needs a full remodel or just an update? Here are the signals Long Island homeowners see most often.
- Cabinet doors that stick, sag, or will not close properly
- Countertops with chips, burns, stains, or delaminating edges
- Appliances older than 15 years that run up your electric bill
- A layout that forces you to walk across the room between sink and stove
- Not enough counter space to prep a meal without stacking things
- Water damage or soft spots around the sink or dishwasher
- Dated tile, vinyl, or linoleum flooring that is cracking or peeling
- Lighting so dim you cannot see what you are cooking
If any of these sound familiar, call (631) 430-5995. We can assess your basement in one visit.

FAQ
Common Questions About Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchen remodels on Long Island typically range from $25,000 to $75,000 depending on the size of the kitchen, materials selected, and whether structural changes are involved. A cosmetic refresh with new counters and cabinet fronts costs less than a full gut renovation with new plumbing and electrical. We provide a free written estimate specific to your project so you know the exact cost before any work begins.
Most full kitchen remodels take four to eight weeks from demolition to final walkthrough. Smaller projects like a cabinet and countertop swap can be done in two to three weeks. Timelines depend on permit turnaround, material lead times, and whether structural work is needed. We give you a fixed schedule at the start of every project.
We provide a written workmanship warranty on every kitchen remodel. This covers installation quality, not manufacturer defects on materials, which carry their own separate warranties. If something we installed fails, we come back and fix it at no charge.
Yes. Meigel Home Improvements pulls all required permits through Suffolk or Nassau County and schedules the inspector on site. Permit fees are included in your quoted price. You never have to visit a municipal office or coordinate inspections yourself.

An adult 18 or older should be available to let the crew in on the first day and for the final walkthrough. During the build, we send daily photo updates and are available by phone or text. You do not need to be home every day.
We work with multiple cabinet and countertop suppliers to match your design preferences and budget. Our team can source specific brands on request. Visit our office in Hauppauge to see material samples in person.
If financing is available, we can connect you with trusted lenders who offer competitive terms for home improvement projects. Ask about options during your free consultation.
Yes. We regularly remove load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls to open kitchens into living and dining areas. We coordinate with a structural engineer when needed and handle all permitting and inspections for structural modifications.
