IS IT TIME?
Signs you need a new deck or patio
Long Island’s salt air, freeze-thaw cycles, and summer humidity take a toll on outdoor structures. Here is how to tell when yours needs work.
- Deck boards that are soft, splintered, or bounce when you walk on them
- Posts or joists showing signs of rot at the base or connection points
- Railing that wobbles or feels loose when you lean on it
- Concrete patio slabs that are cracked, heaving, or settling unevenly
- The surface is too small for how your family actually uses the outdoor space
- You have a back door that steps down to bare grass or dirt
- Staining and sealing your wood deck every year is no longer worth the effort
- Your home’s outdoor living area does not match the quality of the interior
If any of these sound familiar, call (631) 430-5995. We can assess your basement in one visit.

Material Options That Fit Your Life
Pressure-treated lumber, composite (Trex, TimberTech), PVC, and hardwood. We help you choose based on budget, maintenance, and how you use the space.
Structural, Not Decorative
Every deck we build is engineered for load, span, and Long Island's freeze-thaw cycle. Proper footings, ledger attachment, and hardware throughout.
Permits & Inspections Handled
Decks require permits in every town on Long Island. We submit plans, pull permits, and schedule inspections through final approval.
Integrated Outdoor Living
We build decks and patios as part of a larger outdoor plan, including stairs, built-in seating, pergolas, lighting, and transitions to patios and walkways.
Deck and patio services we offer on Long Island
Your outdoor space should work as hard as the inside of your home. Here is the full scope of what we design and build.
Custom Wood Decks Pressure-treated lumber decks with proper footings, joist spacing, and hardware. The most budget-friendly option with a proven track record when maintained.
Composite Decks Trex, TimberTech, and other composite decking that resists fading, staining, and rot without annual sealing. Higher upfront cost, dramatically lower maintenance over time.
PVC and Capped Composite Decks Fully synthetic decking with the highest moisture and UV resistance. Ideal for pool surrounds, waterfront properties, and homeowners who want zero maintenance.
Paver Patios Interlocking concrete pavers, natural stone, and bluestone patios. Proper base prep with compacted gravel and sand for a level, long-lasting surface.
Concrete Patios Poured concrete with broom finish, stamped patterns, or exposed aggregate. A durable, low-maintenance option for larger outdoor areas.
Multi-Level Decks Decks with upper and lower platforms connected by stairs, designed to work with sloped yards or to create separate zones for dining, lounging, and grilling.
Deck Stairs and Railings Code-compliant stairs with proper rise and run, and railings in wood, composite, cable, or aluminum. We match the railing style to the deck material.
Built-In Features Bench seating, planter boxes, pergolas, privacy screens, and lighting wired into the deck structure. Designed as part of the build, not bolted on after.
Deck Repair and Replacement Board replacement, joist repair, post reinforcement, and railing upgrades. If the structure is sound, we can rebuild the surface without starting from scratch.
Patio and Deck Combinations A raised deck off the back door transitioning to a ground-level patio below. The most popular outdoor living configuration on Long Island.
Many homeowners also choose home extensions to create a smoother transition between indoor living areas and a new deck installation.

FAQ
Common Questions About Decks & Patios
Deck costs on Long Island range from $30 to $50 per square foot for pressure-treated lumber and $50 to $90 per square foot for composite or PVC. A typical 300-square-foot deck runs $9,000 to $27,000 depending on material, height, railing, and built-in features. We provide a free written estimate after measuring your space.
Paver patios on Long Island typically run $20 to $40 per square foot installed, depending on the paver material and base prep required. Natural stone and bluestone run higher. We include proper gravel base, compaction, edging, and polymeric sand in every patio install.
Most decks are completed in one to three weeks from the start of construction. Permit turnaround adds one to four weeks before we can break ground. Larger multi-level decks or projects with pergolas and built-ins take longer.
Yes. Every town on Long Island requires a building permit for deck construction. The permit process includes plan review and a final inspection. We handle all permit submissions and inspections.
Pressure-treated wood costs less upfront but needs staining and sealing every one to two years. Composite costs more initially but requires almost no maintenance for 25 years or more. We walk you through the cost comparison over 10 and 20 years so you can make an informed decision.
Deck footings on Long Island must extend below the frost line, which is 36 to 48 inches depending on your municipality. We pour concrete footings to the required depth and set post hardware before framing begins.
Yes. We build pool-surround decks in composite or PVC with proper drainage, slip-resistant surfaces, and code-compliant railings and gates. Permits are required and we handle the process.
Yes. We hold an active contractor license [CONFIRM LICENSE #] and carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Certificates available on request.
Yes. A raised deck off the back door stepping down to a ground-level paver patio is one of our most popular projects. We design and build both as a single coordinated project with one timeline and one crew.
Most composite decking manufacturers offer 25-year to lifetime limited warranties on their products. The structural framing underneath, typically pressure-treated lumber, lasts 20 to 30 years when properly built. We use stainless steel or coated hardware to prevent fastener corrosion from Long Island's salt air.
